Question: What is “Audio Solutions AID”?
Audio Solutions AID, or Audio Interface Device, is a direct box designed and constructed too provide an easy interface between electronic equipment and Public Address systems.

Question: What type of equipment is it designed to work with?
Audio Solutions AID use any line level or earphone level signal as its source. The Audio Solutions AID will connect to any audio system that is equipped with professional XLR audio connectors. Most public meeting space that has a built in PA system will have wall plates with the XLR type connections. If the system does not have XLR connectors, adapters are available.

Question: What type of connection is required?
The connection to the AID is a 3.5mm stereo jack. This is the standard connection on computer sound cards, consumer electronics such as boom boxes, walkman type of cd or tape players. No adapter is required when used with the headphone jack type of connection.

Question: Why is the AID different?
Audio Solutions AID is unique to the industry. NO other interface device provides:
Headphone Jack. The 3.5mm input jack AND a 3.5mm headphone connection (output) that allows the use of stereo headphones without Y cords and adapters.

Switch. The switch turns on or off the signal to the output transformer. The AID allows you to listen to the audio before audio is submitted to the room PA. The AID will function in any room that has a PA system (meeting rooms, convention centers, etc.) or professional mixing equipment.

Cover. Once the internal pad and ground lift switches are set, the cover can be locked in place to eliminate unwanted “fiddling” with the switches.

Question: Why would I need an AID?
For presentations. If you use a computer for a public presentation and have a program such as MS PowerPoint, audio can now be combined with the slides. The AID is the missing link to connect the sound card or audio to the PA system so an audience can hear clearly the recorded portion of the presentation.

For background music. It is very difficult to play music from a computer, boom box or any other source into a PA system in a public meeting room. The AID connects to any microphone jack in any existing facility and easily allows you to have total control of the content and volume. No assistance is required from the staff of the facility.

Permanent installations. Once the settings of the switches are in the correct position for the system being linked together, the lid can be use at the mount under desks, counters, cabinets, carts etc.

Question: What is the AS-2 and how is it used?
The Audio Solutions AS-2 box is simply a converter from four (4) XLR microphone type connectors to the DB-9 connector used by FTR. The AS-2 converter is used to connect or adapt the connections from the mixer to the sound card. FTR uses several sound cards such as the Antex and Delta 44 to record the four (4) independent channels of audio necessary for court systems.
